Paul Chryst is an American football coach. He is best known for his two stints as the head football coach at the University of Wisconsin.
Early Career: Chryst began his coaching career as a graduate assistant at West Virginia University and later at the University of Illinois. He then held various offensive coaching positions at several universities.
Oregon State: Before his first stint at Wisconsin, he served as the offensive coordinator for the Oregon State Beavers.
First Wisconsin Stint (Offensive Coordinator): Chryst first joined the Wisconsin Badgers as the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach from 2005 to 2011. During this time, the Badgers' offense was consistently ranked among the best in the nation.
Pittsburgh Head Coach: From 2012 to 2014, Chryst served as the head football coach at the University of Pittsburgh. His tenure at Pitt was marked by moderate success.
Second Wisconsin Stint (Head Coach): Chryst returned to Wisconsin as the head coach in 2015. Under his leadership, the Badgers achieved significant success, including multiple Big Ten West Division titles and Rose Bowl appearances.
