Paul Chryst is an American football coach and former player, best known for his role as a head coach in college football. Born on November 17, 1965, in Madison, Wisconsin, Chryst has an extensive coaching career that includes various roles at both collegiate and professional levels.

Chryst's most notable coaching position was as the head coach of the University of Wisconsin–Madison football team, a role he held from 2015 to 2022. During his tenure, he led the Badgers to multiple bowl games and achieved success in the Big Ten Conference. Before becoming head coach at Wisconsin, Chryst served as the head coach at the University of Pittsburgh from 2012 to 2014.

Chryst is also recognized for his work as an offensive coordinator. Prior to his head coaching roles, he held the position of offensive coordinator at Wisconsin and at Oregon State University.
